FLEUR DU CAP NOBLE LATE HARVEST CLINCHES 2ND CONSECUTIVE PLATTER 5-STARS
GC Communications - 2008-11-18

For the second year running, Fleur du Cap Noble Late Harvest has distinguished itself as one of the country's leading wines with another 5-star rating by the prestigious Platter's South African Wine Guide - the definitive guide to who's who and what's what in South African wine.

The star studded 2007 Fleur du Cap Noble Late Harvest is one of a record 33 wines out of the 6 400 contenders to triumph with the sought-after top grading of 5-stars in the 2009 edition of Platter's Guide. The 2007 vintage is also a Veritas gold medallist for the past two years. Its predecessor, the Fleur du Cap Noble Late Harvest 2006, attained 5-star glory in the 2008 Platter edition and boasts a 2007 Michelangelo Gold medal.

Fleur du Cap Noble Late Harvest 2007 is made of Rhine Riesling grapes selected from prime vineyards situated in the Stellenbosch region. The distinctive 5-star noble taste is the result of meticulous hand-selection that ensured a very high percentage of botrytis grapes.

“On the nose this wine shows ample typical botrytis aromas of dried apricots, honey and peach, whilst the palate rewards with delightful tangerine peel, orange marmalade and honey with the botrytis even further enhancing these flavours. Great acidity tempers the sweetness and accentuates the fruit flavours,” is how winemaker Pieter Badenhorst describes this noble wine.

Served with a variety of cheeses or desserts this enchanting wine promises a luxurious ending to any meal. The Fleur du Cap Noble Late Harvest 2007 will be available from select boutique wine outlets as well as The Bergkelder in Stellenbosch Tel (021) 809 8025.
